Coal & Nuclear Power Have Over 15x the Water Footprint of Renewable Energy Sources
The huge carbon emissions and environmental destruction of coal is well known. As are the catastrophic risks with nuclear power should something go wrong. But what's less known with both is the huge water footprint of both, in comparison to renewable energy sources and even in comparison to natural gas.
It's based off a new report from the River Network, and highlights a big concern for many places considering the projected effects of climate change, population growth and resource consumption on water supply.
