Fla. county commission debates fluoride in water

In January, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced a proposal to change the recommended fluoride level to 0.7 milligrams per liter of water. And the Environmental Protection Agency will review whether the maximum cutoff of 4 milligrams per liter is too high.

Pinellas County will allow the current supply of fluoride to run out, which should happen sometime before Dec. 31, said commission Chairwoman Susan Latvala. The move affects about 700,000 people
