Targeting a big source of the bays pollution

Upgrading Washington D.C.'s Blue Plains Sewage Treatment Plant could prevent up to 4 million pounds of nitrogen per year from the Potomac River, and ultimately the Chesapeake Bay. High levels of nitrogen contribute to algae blooms that deplete oxygen levels in the bay.
